Vampires!

As a guy who mainly writes code most of his waking hours, I find it extremely relaxing to be involved in activities that do not involve computers. Between working at my day job in software and working on this here fotojournal thing, it’s hard to find time to step away from the computer.
I am a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and working towards my blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I use martial arts to keep fit and keep sane, but I also have a large nerdtastic side to myself and enjoy painting miniatures. I enjoy painting but I also have a blast photographing them, especially trying different things with aperture and lighting.
With miniatures being so accessible to me I find it a lot easier for me to try different experiments in my basement than it is to go on regular photowalks, especially in these seemingly 4-hour days in the Canadian winter. Here are a few recent experiments and I hope to do more in the future as I try new things and try to learn more about this ‘photography’ thing:
